Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School

     John W.O. Webb donated forty acres of land for the Iowa School for the Blind in 1859. The school opened in 1862 with 24 students, which grew to 60 after the first year.  Mary Ingalls (sister of Laura Ingalls Wilder) came in 1882 and graduated in 1889.
